In coffee plantations, shade is managed according to weather conditions, soil type and land slope. It reduces environmental temperature of soil and, therefore, evaporation on the surface (relative humidity). Night temperature is higher, and in the day it is lower than in coffee crops in the sun. There is reduced direct sunlight and leaf temperatures, ideal conditions for photosynthesis and more efficient coffee growth.
